How Do Led Energy-Saving Lamps Work?

Led street light, led garden light and led solar light all belong to led environmental protection and energy saving products. How can led lamp save energy and improve energy efficiency?
The structure of the led
Simply put, the two sides of a semiconductor are made into p-type and n-type semiconductors through different components.
In p-type semiconductor, the hole is the majority carrier, and in n-type semiconductor, the electron is the majority carrier.
Due to the difference in concentration, the two carriers will spontaneously spread to each other's region.
Since the hole is positively charged and the electron is negatively charged, the two carriers will compound at the interface, thus forming a space charge area on both sides of the interface, and its electric field direction is from N to P, which is the PN section.The formation of this internal electric field prevents the diffusion motion of most carriers, so the scale of PN section is determined at a certain temperature (see figure 1).
How leds work
When the PN section is applied with positive voltage (p-type semiconductor is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, n-type semiconductor is connected to the negative pole of the power supply), the external electric field and internal electric field act on each other, and the overall effect is to weaken the internal electric field, so that the holes and electrons can spread to each other's region to form a stable current.
When the electrons recombine with the holes, the extra energy is released in the form of light, which converts electrical energy directly into light energy (see figure 2).
